We Have Lost Our Keys

Have you ever lost your keys? It happens to me about once a week. When I come into the house I usually put my keys down on the corner of the table. This process has become a habit unless I enter a different door then I can usually predict that my keys will be lost. At the time I do not think about it, however, the next morning I am turning the house upside down trying to find where I placed them.

Our Spiritual life is similar to the habits we apply to our daily lives. For example if we rise every morning and the first thing that we do is grab God's Word then we usually are satisfied with our routine. However, if we remove that element from our day, then we find ourselves turning everything upside down trying to locate that item that is going to get us to the next stop. We find ourselves stressed and unsure of the day.

Let me encourage you to start your day with the Lord. Develop that routine where you start it off with the creator of the Universe. You may realize that your problems are not so big after all. So, surrender your mind to the Lord each day, which essentially is an element of dedication.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. [The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), Ro 12:1–2.]

You will find that presenting yourself before the Lord every morning is the key to a better day.
